This garden exists in a particularly exposed site in Walberswick, Suffolk. When we first met our clients, their garden was outdated and tired having been battered by the elements. They wanted a contemporary coastal garden that felt appropriate in the surroundings and one that wouldn’t take hours of their time to maintain.
We installed this charming gravel garden that uses tough, drought tolerant planting to produce a lovely space that is soft, colourful and full of movement.
The garden has multiple seating and entertaining areas, each with a different aspect and viewpoint. Looking out onto a farmed field and the sea beyond, the view is every changing with crops and dramatic coastal views.
We constructed the bespoke timber garden building which provides valuable storage space as well as a striking feature in the garden. Construction is board and batten with a Cedar shingle saltbox roof.
